can you delete the silly airpump thing?
with teh MSP swap im doing, i was wondering if i can delete the airpump and the airpump valve that runs down to somewhere near the exhaust. ECU is a 2004 with a racing beat flash.
this is an emissions exempt situation. Just need to know if it will run in limp or not.

ill have to see if i can get it as part of the swap then. actually, come to think of it, racing beat does sell a block off plate for where it goes, i should call and ask them. ill do that and report back.

according to Racing Beat, you can remove it from the car and it will run fine. Just effects warm up emissions, so might be a problem for you smog nazi county types. But since this is going into an exempt rx2....game on!

It will burn up your cat if you delete it with the factory ECU. Racing beat sells a block off plate though for $10. I would recommend an access port if you're going to use the factory ECU. Then you can just disable the air pump codes from the computer and re tune it for warm up to be a little less rich.

It runs off a relay that is in the ecu box under the main ecu. That relay is powered by a fuse in the engine bay fuse box. You can loose all that. If there is no power going to it at all the ecu will not even throw a code. I didnt even bother ordering the block off plate, just cut one out of a steel bar I had laying around
