Default Poor throttle response

My 86 rx7 is not getting good throttle response. After smashing the throttle to the floor, it takes two or three seconds before it responds, but the car never stalls. It's got a rebuilt s4 motor with a stock s5 turbo. Secondary butterflies were removed. I'm not even sure what to check. Tps is fine. Cable is tight

Not enough information...

Non-turbo S4 engine with an S5 stock turbo?
What ECU are you running?
Who did the mods?

Does this happen in neutral too? Maybe you are expecting stump pulling torque off boost and need to be patient for the turbo.

Please give more information.

Typically misfiring if the throttle is floored but revving normally if the throttle is slowly opened is an indication of a bad or severely maladjusted TPS.
