36k original miles 84 fb?
found a local person selling a 84 fb with gsl_se badges the car was stored outside for the most part and has rust on the roof. im looking at this car to possibly add to my collection. it has an amzingly straight body besides here and there mild rust spots. this car hasnt been started monthly to lubricate the seals it just sat in a lot for a decade give or take. my question is in what condition should the seals be? its not a 13b engine nor does it have a sunroof?
any opinions |

My minds tellin' me no...

Yep, a 12a, and especially the lack of sunroof says it isn't a GSL-SE.

Ya that was my assuption that it wasn't a true gslse. The car does start it smokes but starts would that make much of a differance. I'm still debating about this the car is very very clean on the interior
what complications could I run into with this since it has sat for so long |

I would question if thats a true 36k miles...the wrong badges and the rust is sad if its correct.. I got my 83 LE three years ago with 62k and everything was correct other then the wheels, title and dmv check showed 1 owner and correct millage match to the odo..

Looks like an S model, maybe a GS but I thought they all had sunroofs (my GS has one, but no rear wiper).
Other than that unusual rust at the window edge, it looks clean. $1000 is too high though.

Temporarily insane.
|
GS's are mixed. Some came with sunroofs, but it wasn't an absolute option. Only the GSL's and GSL-SE's came with sunroofs. Base models never came with them. The best test is rear brakes. Disc brakes and a limited slip differential only came on GSL and GSL-SEs.

My car is a GS and has no sunroof, it was an additional option. Seeing the Stock + rims, screams that its GS. SE's had the 4X114 bolt pattern, Stock +'s had 4X110 bolt pattern. Doesnt look like its in bad condition, not to different than mine, minus the rust, and I paid $800 about 6 years ago.
