So i heard that i could possibly use an s4 na harness with an s5 turbo ecu.. the difference being only one wire. Is this tid bit true?

No.
The largest plug doesn't fit due to 4 "offset" pins. So, unless your source that offset plug, that plug is not compatible. Why you want to do this in the first place? Are you looking for "magical" maps that will give you an instant 20hp or something? This is just not going to happen. Get a standalone EMS... -Ted |

Thanks Ted
No im not looking for magical anything.. im gonna i have an S5 turbo ecu but not the harness. Im more than likely getting an S5 engine from a friend of mine and i just wanted to see if what i had would work. i just want to run a close to stock turbo car for now until i can afford my actual build. Then ill be doing standalone and all that fun stuff. Ill just source an S5 harness and call it good then i suppose.

One other problem...
The programmed overboost fuel-cut might be a problem. Since your non-turbo pressure sensor runs the whole range of 0-5V, you can trigger the overboost fuel-cut on a turbo ECU... -Ted |

I think I might still have my n370 boost sensor. I don't remember if I sold it or not. I will look tomorrow. Matt must have still been using his S4 ecu w/ s4 na harness w/ s5 motor. I don't have a clue anymore. I just tried searching through the 80 page Montana thread to find what he did and my brain hurts. There is some funny shit it in there though.

You can have fuel cut removed from the Ecu like kyle did also. You can't use the S4 harnesss on an s5 ecu because the plugs are different. You will also need the Boost Pressure sensor. I don't believe he is saying the harness will cause this you just need the proper pressure sensor.ReTed?

Well I don't remember selling it but I cannot find it anywhere. So you need to pick one of those up too. On the plus side I do still have my OMP so you can just plug it in so it does not go into limp mode.

If you are doing this to a s4 car and you have to ask you are in big trouble. You have to keep everything together,S4 ECU,S4 HARNESS,S4 FLOW METER,S4 MAP and S4 INJECTORS(there is a way to use S5 injectors on S4 cars and viceversa)
Now if you have a S5 NA you need to source everything above posted(of course s5 versions of it)and plug everything in using your stock na wiring and your golden. |
