Default BNR Turbos, sheets and engine spec plz!

Hi, im new to this page and am just starting to mod my 90 EU TII vert.. And I am trying to suck up as much info as possible about how to do this right. Could you guys with BNR turbos write down your engine spec, BNR stage and maybe some dynosheets? I have a 3 inch straight exhaust, FCD, stock primaries, 720cc secondaries, walbro fuel pump and FMIC. For this winter I probably be buying a koyo rad and a Apexi PFC. Then when the economy allows it I will rebuild my engine and do a street port. When that time comes the big question will be; "what turbo".. Awesome forum btw, thanks guys!

Wow, u put down some good numbers there. I didnt know you could get that much HP with 2 1/2" downpipe, stock ports and 720 secondaries! Good job man. I guess your car is really fun to drive, with no turbolag and good response. I am thinking about doing the stage 3 BNR with a pfc and streetport. I think the streetport will help much on spooling the turbo and I will have a nice powerband and put down 350+BHP. I want a engine with good response without turbolag and only power at the last thousand RPM`s. Will the stage 3 be too big for that? I will boost 15psi i guess..

Your fuel injectors are not big enough.

350+ will require a lot of fuel. I made 409whp on an older TII of mine with a 255lph fuel pump, 720 primaries and 1680 secondaries at 14psi. The only reason it stopped there was because there wasn't enough fuel to go any further. Now the injectors them selves were good until a little over 500, but what are you doing for a fuel pump?

Also, with stock primaries and only 720 secondaries... your pushing it at 300whp. and pushing it hard. Anything over 80% duty cycle on your injectors is not a good thing. So just because you can run them at 90 or 100% duty cycle with a standalone, but that dosn't mean you should.

I would at a minimum, get 1000cc secondaries for a 350whp goal. But that's only because I use methanol as an additive. Without any AI, just get some 1680's Bosch style. they drop right in to the stock fuel rail.

Ofcourse im gonna get some bigger injectors. The reason i am having 550 pri and 720 is because im just having FMIC, straight exhaust and open filter.. As soon as im getting a pfc, streetport and so on im gonna upgrade my fuel system.. You guys have any input on the BNR turbos? Did you have a BNR turbo when u made 409whp?

Default BNR Stage 1

Here's a sheet from a recent dyno run. Car has a BNR Stage 1 turbo, 750cc RC secondaries, 3" RB REV-II turbo-back exhaust system, Supra TT fuel pump, Bonez intake, and Apexi S-AFC II tuning.

Tried the Rtek 1.7 chip, but the tuner could not get a safe AFR, so had to revert to a stock ECU and rely on the S-AFC for tuning. Engine runs awesome on the track. It does have an intermittent starting problem and a bit of a rough idle, which I will address during the off season. May try chipping a different ECU.

Thanks for uploading your sheet. Funny track car i believe I guess this proves you can have much fun with a FC with just minor modifications. How much boost did you run?

On the track about 9-10 psi in hot weather.

Stage 3 is the same price with bonus's. I'm guessing between the two it's the best bang for the buck.

Are you running the stock TMIC? Just curious, as it looks like your setup will be similar to mine in many regards once I get to the performance stuff after I finish the paint and body.

I have the same setup just with a stock turbo and no S-AFC. What issues did you attribute to the RTEK 1.7 that were fixed with the stock ecu? or was it just you couldn't tune with it?
