Default Speedometer Issue

I have searched about my problem for a while and have not found any potential resolution for it. So here goes.

At idle my speedometer reads about 18mph, my commander reads the same but in kph. I have changed the speed sensor, resoldered all connections on the flex circuit on the gauge cluster. The car was stripped to a shell then rebuilt from the ground up. My question is has anyone seen this problem before?

you should post in the appropriate forum for the generator car you are discussing. This is mostly engine related in here.

The speedometer reads, not the tach? Does the indicated speed on the speedometer change when you rev the engine? Is your drivetrain actually connected, or is it possible that your output shaft is actually turning?

What generation? If 1st or 2nd gen, the speedometer is cable-driven. I don't know about 3rd gen.

Default Speedometer

Sorry for not providing enough info. The car is a 93 RX7. The car is now completed and running. The tach and all other gauges work correctly.

Default Speedo Issue

After removing my speedo I found the source of my problem. A diode and transistor along with some capacitors were fried. Replaced speedo with another and all is good. Will repair my original at some point.
