Default Racing Nikki issue

Hey Guys

I have a racing Nikki on a streetported 12A.
Well the thing is, as soon as the engine is running it feels like the throttle has to overcome a very strong vacuum, I really need to press the pedal hard to overcome the "binding"

Any inputs are appreciated.

Kim

There is a part of the linkage that looks like a rod with a spring on it. This is supposed to rest on a pivoting "hook", but is often left loose and allowed to drop down. This is referred to as the "teeter totter". If you conduct a search, you should find info on it. This is you most likely suspect.

You can also do some more research over at www.sterlingmetalworks.com , where there is a wealth of information on Nikki carbs.

Good luck.

Only sprung rod on this carb is for the acc.pump
The problem is only when the engine runs, when it's shut off - no problem.

Primaries and secondaries open together.

If I'm not mistaken you should be using the black spacer between the manifold and carb.

Yeah, the filtering at, um, the place I'm at right now, won't let the pictures through if they are hosted. If the pics are uploaded to the site, then I'm fine.
