Well that didn't go as planned...
Stupid track was WAY too sticky...
First pass out went a 16.512@81.95 with a 2.3 60' (2 tenths and 2 MPH better then previous best, no changes). Drove around and went again immediately to a 16.63@81.5. Everything was perfect and the lanes were clear (there was maybe a dozen cars there) so I pulled up to do a third run in a row. Did my burnout, staged, launched from 7500RPM's... ...and snapped the new rear u-joint clean in two, and the driveshaft banged the ground and broke one of the collars off. SUCK! So I wasted a good 30+ run night 10 minutes in! Got a guy to tow strap me to the Burger King outside the track (after pulling the driveshaft out), then called the insurance. Had it towed to a family members house in Vancouver and my neighbor came down to rescue me. Hitching a ride back down tomorrow with my tow straps to get it home, but we're going to try the driveline shop in Vancouver first. The track better be this good tomorrow for the P71!!!!

UPDATE:
I am the luckiest son of a... I brought the broken driveshaft to I-5 Driveline in Vancouver, WA. He took one look at it and showed me that they were non-serviceable u-joints. So the "new" u-joint wasn't new at all! Just so happened to have a first Gen RX-7 driveshaft sitting there in the shop (that's the lucky part). He put new Spicer u-joints in it, cleaned it, trued it, balanced it, painted it, and sent me on my way in under an hour for a very, very competitive price (cheaper then the quotes I've been getting for a used one shipped). So the car is home, and now I'm trying to figure out how to get a Summit universal driveshaft loop in it (since I already have one). I do have to say that I-5 treated me very, very well, and on the Saturday before Easter at that. Couldn't ask for an easier fix to my breakage!
