Default American/Japanese pony-drift car love child...Rotary powered SN95 Mustang

Hey Everybody!!! I'm Corey. New to rotarycarclub Forums, not so new to rotaries. I have been a huge car nut all my life. My automotive background greatly centers around drifting and 240SXs and RX7s, but Ive always always loved mustangs. I have had a 2012 V6 and a 96 Mystic Cobra with a Saleen body kit. I currently have a 98 V6 Mustang (roller chassis) that i am in the works to swapping in a Bridge-ported 13B Turbo Rotary from a 86-92 RX7. Ive owned 4 FC3S RX7s and since have always dreamed a building a rotary powered SN95. I picked up my current chassis for $500. My vision is to take everything I love about Drifting, 240SXs, RX7s, and 90s Japanese car tuning style and incorporate it all into everything I love about Mustangs with this build. Its going to have a touch of everything. Im talking low aggressive stance, fender flares, JDM offset wheels, export mustang taillights, mach1 chin spoiler, single racing seat with Takata Harnesses, hydro hand brake, Nardi steering wheel with quick release...I can go on and on. I'm a firm believer in "to each their own" so this build isnt to appease the typical mustang enthusiast. More of a combination of everything I love about cars wrapped into one Vehicle

This is the Rotary Car Club. . . However, welcome and good luck with the swap.

This sounds cool.... but..... its quite a bit bigger than an FC. Do you think it will move the car well?

Have you done any weight comparisons. I'm curious to see what kind of difference there is.

I know the 13B is atleast 100lbs lighter than the old V6, plus I plan on using a tubular k-member and Manual steering rack, so theres about another 60lbs saved. The stock S4/S5 13Bts make what, about 205hp/185tq or thereabout? much better than the stock V6's 150hp/140tq. Plus i'm going to have it rebuilt and bridge-ported with a T3/T4 turbo (or something adequate). All in all should move pretty good, plus the lighter front end with 2.5X the power should make for a fun and nimble monster

I could have sworn I typed that in my original comment here but I guess I just let it live in my mind instead

The way it was written, my first thought was "What is this spambot crap? ! they could at least find the right forum to sell their junk" until I continued reading (I had almost tuned out after the first sentence though). LOL No worries, after reading it my second thought was what you just said. . .

Welcome! Do a build thread, I'd be interested in the progress. Sounds like a cool project.

I would be concerned about the power to weight too, but I like different and this is certainly different lol.

Now if you did this to an 70s Mustang II it would really rock, much lighter chassis.

Either way, sounds interesting.
