Question guys:
How are you using an RX-8 alternator on a 7? Half of the Regulator is in the alternator, and the ECU controls the other half?

I checked into it at work, and this is what I found (which is why I asked), directly from our vendor:
MAZDA RX-8 1.3L 2004-05 5-GROOVE PULLEY NOTE: P-D PLUG NOTE: THIS UNIT CANNOT BE CHECKED WITHOUT A SPECIAL TEST PLUG. HALF THE REGULATOR (FIELD CONTROL) IS FOUND IN THE ALTERNATOR. THE OTHER HALF IS IN THE COMPUTER. TESTING THIS ALTERNATOR IMPROPERLY WILL DAMAGE THE FIELD CONTROL. I want to get my hands on one to take it apart and find out if the regulator can at least be swapped out, but unfortunately we have not received a sample yet, and I'm not buying one just to take it apart. (Not for the price anyway)
