The BBSs from convertible FCs are very light and look good.

Since the 5 x 114.3mm bolt pattern is known as a "luxury" bolt pattern, I doubt you'd find something "lightweight" from any of the domestic cars.
Most of the 5-lug domestic wheels are either wrong bolt pattern or from super heavy cars that don't give a rip about weight. GM Camaro and Corvette patterns are 5 x 4.75", so it doesn't fit our 5 x 4.5" pattern. Pontiac makes a stupid 5 x 115mm (who the f*ck makes a one-off pattern like that???). Most of the (newer) Ford Mustang wheels are the right bolt pattern, but I would never consider them "light". It's your best bet to find some Mazda ones. Like need_RX7 already mentioned, the vert 15" wheels are light, but you're stuck with the 15" x 6.0" size. If you can find some Kouki Turbo II / GTUs wheels, those are 16" x 7.0", and weight significantly lighter than the Zenki Turbo II wheels in the same specs. -Ted |

these are from a pontiac grand prix 16x8, 25mm offset. they weighed exactly the same as the stock s4 TII wheel with tire, but 1 in wider
there is also a crown vic/grand marquis mesh type wheel 16x7 that has a decent offset, not sure about weight |

Have any pics of how they fit with the fenders? Any spacers needed?

FD wheels are almost the best choice. rx8's look nice too. but those grand prix wheels lookgood too! also the grand marquis mesh wheels look similar with a bigger lip and perfect fit. plus many more people dont know about. i seen a FC with 18" wheels from a dodge magnum that looked pretty nice.

Both of these have identical width and offsets.
They both require big spacers to fit up front. They will fit in the back but have that "sunken" look which a lot of people don't like. -Ted |

for FD and rx8 wheels you need a 25mm adapter in the rear. and a 20mm adapter in the front. this will give a perfect fit.

dude, how did those fit? Pontiac, and most gm are 115 not 114.3 pattern, so those should just BARELY be wrong fitment....
check your lug bolts, and studs for anything bent, warped, or thread damage. I will be surprised if you dont find some. uness they have epitrochoid lug holes like some wheels i found at the junkyard. note, the above were really wide 15" wheels with what looked like cast aluminum centers and the rotor housing looking bolt holes were cast in, NOT drilled or anything.

i was going to run FD rims but decided the offsets were going to require too much work to get right...
mustang GT rims are fairly lightweight and plentiful (and have great tire size choices)... and fit well on a 2nd gen! (not my car... just knew where to find this pic quicker) Last edited by Project10AE; 09-27-2009 at 08:34 PM.. Reason: added pic |
