Spark blowout????
So, the other day the car started to break up. I know that it is running stupid rich under full boost. Still tuning, but it is right around 10.9 hahahahaha. But anyway, I might have had a little spot of air int he line, as i did not notice i was right below a 1/4 tank of gas when this happened. But, at what point do these cars have spark blow out problems??? If they do at all. I am used to rb and 2j motors with this problem. Just finished installing a amplifier on a evo. So i am aware how all of it works, just wondering if that is really my problem or it could be a tune thing.

Outside the "box"......

Why do you think it had "spark blowout"? What was the "breaking up" like? What boost level? What type of plugs are you usuing? What type of fuel? 10.9:1 afr isn't overly rich under high load.

^ is your name jonathin???
And it was like a typical spit and sputter under full throttle. The boost is set at 15 psi on gt37r and i have the stock plugs in at the time. I totally forgot that i did. So i ended up putting trailing in all of them. It was pump gas, and it smokes black when it opens up. And now that i think about it, it is jonathin, i am sure that you will remember me man, but this is the guy that called you alot to ask questions about why my car would flood out and i wanted you to tune the car. Whats up? Here is a pic of the set up so you know.

10.9 is not too rich on a rotary. If you are pushing 15psi on pump with a turbo that big, I would keep the car below 11 anyways.
Are you on the stock ignition system? Its probably tired out and can't keep up. Most people run the HKS Twin-Power when you get above 350rwhp. If the plugs aren't all fouled up, it shouldnt make that much of a difference concering the breakup. Running underrated plugs will just cause pre-ignition. |
