Need some help with power windows
my passenger side power window will not go down. i have tried 3 different passenger and driver switches and still nothing. when i put battery voltage directly to the motor it works fine. any ideas?

Check for continuity between the switch and motor.

Since your motors work fine with 12v applied to them, I can only assume they're not getting 12v.
On the PASSENGER side, there should be a Red wire and a Green wire going to the motor from the switch (the circuit includes a 2 prong connector). Going to the PASSENGER switch from the DRIVER side main switch should be a Red/White wire and a Green/White wire (included in a 5 prong connector). If I'm reading this right, when you press the down function on the DRIVER'S side, the Green/White wire and Green wire should have continuity (0, or close to 0 Ohms). If you press the Up function on the DRIVER'S side, the Red/White and Red wire should have continuity. If you press down function on the PASSENGER side, the Green wire should have 12v going to it and should have continuity with the Black/Blue wire. If you press the up function on the PASSENGER side, the Red wire should have 12v going to it and should have continuity with the Black/Blue wire. Test to make sure these things are occurring. There's also a more complete testing procedure in the FSM (15-54).

i will test the switches. i highly doubt that all 6 of my switches are bad...one pair of them i just pulled a couple weeks ago and they worked fine. the driver side works fine, just the passenger side doesnt go up/down.

Sounds like there is a bad connection between the driver and passenger switch.

That's the connector that goes to the motor. So yes, that being unplugged will do it...

the motor is already plugged in. that connector is inside the car, not the door. i just called my buddy with a s4 t2 (which is what i have) and he has the same plug inside the car and there is a place on his body harness for it to plug into. i can not for the life of me find the plug inside my car. i think i might need to run those 2 wires from the driver side somewhere. great.

Looks like it's a Red and Green wired two prong connector, just like pointed to in the below picture. Am I seeing this wrong?

i have the motor already connected. there are 3 plugs that come into the car. 2 are green, that one is the other one. i already called my buddy and he has the same thing. there for whatever reason is not the connecting plug on my body harness...at least not that i can find. i need to figure how to run these wires from the other side or something.

swapped the door harnesses from an 86-87 model (what my front harness is) and the window works now. it is very slow to go up but goes down fine. should i swap out the regulator or could it be something else?

Mine is slow going up as well, I believe its an age/lack of usage thing - the driver's works fine because I zip it up and down alot
I would first lube all the window channels up and make sure its not binding in any of the weatherstripping, then go from there. EDIT: don't use grease either, it'll swell the rubbers, use a silicone spray. |

The first thing anyone should do when looking at window problems is to take apart the switches and clean the contacts with sandpaper. The contacts in the switches are really, really small, and even a tiny bit of dirt can make them slow or keep them from working altogether. The passenger window on my 'vert stopped working, and that was the culprit.
