Neither of those pans will work on a 13B from an S4 or S5. The only possibility would be to move the engine further back and down, which is possible, but you need to do a lot of work to do that.

I kind of figured... I was looking into see if anyone has actually tried or used one. There are some people that say you actually gain some performance by reducing the engine flex...

Honestly though, why not just go dry sump and be done with it?

thats why people have solid motor/trans mounts... like me! if you want to beef up your oil pan get an oil baffle plate, I highly recommend one. No more low oil level buzzer on high G cornering for me! |

Yep, those pans are only made for pre-86 13B's, and will not fit FC or FD 13B's with stock engine mounts.
You're going to redo your stock engine mounts just to get this thing to fit??? I doubt having a beefier oil pan flange will actually make the engine stronger... Under 300hp 13B's should not need it. Over 400hp 13B's should seriously look into dowelling. Another option is to go with the Banzai oil pan engine brace? I would never use it on my cars though... -Ted |

Ok where can I get more info on dry sump and dowelling? I was researching a bit more and came across the pineapple racing pan for the FC. I'm thinking this might be what would work best... Let's not forget that this is a street car...

Appearently the pineapple ones crack real easy, i have heard horror stories of people knicking stuff in the street and losing all there oil and killing there engine before they knew anything was wrong. But i was also told that they stick past your frame, which pineapple states they do not, so whether or not theres any truth behind the stories is not worth testing to me, i was considering one at one point, but if your car is stock and you dont auto-x or anything theres really not much point.

Stick under the car: No. Not the FC pan. I love mine. I just wish they'd make some REAL FUCKING DRAIN PLUGS for it instead of the retarded allen key pieces of shit they sell with it. I had to tack some nuts on them after the teency weency little allen key piece stripped (2-3 oilchanges) Its not a really "necessary" mod though. Yes, my car holds quite a bit of oil now. Yes, the pan hasa windage tray and a very well designed baffle system - but those can be added to a stock pan with $5 worth of sheet metal. Its mostly a bling piece.....

if you are looking to beef up the motor to reduce the motor from flexing you can get extra dowels "doweling" as said above or there are a few companies that make enlarged dowels. my motor has extra dowels, solid motor mounts & a torque brace bar to eliminate engine shutter / movement. i have never seen anyone try to fit the moroso oil pan in a FC application.

Baffling would be nice, I lost quite a bit of oil from the filler-tube from my auto-x today. So when I pull the motor I'll definately be adding that along with something in the oil fill tube to prevent the oil from getting everywhere..... again.
The extra 1.25 qts would be nice but there are other ways to get it. If your biggest concern is getting through the dragon, I would think that there are other ways to get through it than with a different pan. What's the problem with the way it is now? Oh, I also heard that the Pineapple pan likes to let oil seep through it. The o-ring seal is a nice little touch though.

Mine did though, the first couple times I installed it, seep around a couple bolt heads. Nothing major, but still a piss off when its something designed to prevent any leaks. It was sealed a bazillion times better then my stock oil pan....although I'm sure if I'd used it I could've sealed it better then the last goomba who put it (the stock one) on |
