Go dyno it. Why guess, when you can get the actual numbers.

I would not recommend a turbo from a diesel. Have you seen how massive the hotside is? It would take forever to spool, and make the powerband too narrow. Not to mention the issues with flanges.

Plus it is cheaper to get an eBay manifold, or a TII manifold. Of course, if you are wanting to do a 6 port turbo, you have alot more work to do than you think!

Did you use 6port irons or 4port irons when you built the engine?

NOS is cheaper and easier IMHO. HP is tough to say really, aside from the SP and carb setup the rest of the mods dont really add much HP and its hard to judge how big the SP is. I'll guess 160-180whp, but as VEX said, dyno it to really know... |

I believe he used 12A plates....I told him as far as I was aware, with a massive streetport, he still would probably see 200-220whp at most with everything absolutely perfect, but wasn't sure.

7psi is within the comfort zone for a stock T2 setup... NOS would still be much easier/cheaper, lol.

You may get up to 200whp NA w/ the 4 port irons a big enough SP, but its a stretch... good luck and keep us posted though! |

It all comes down to tuning. People run 300+ shots through rotarys all the time.

There's no way to know how much horse power you will get from 7 psi. Different turbos flow different amounts of air at the same boost levels. That being said, I doubt 7 psi. from any turbo will give you 100hp. Can you give specs on the turbo? Last edited by drewski86; 12-16-2008 at 05:42 PM. |
