				And the clutch is IN!

Took about 4 hours and still no test drive (I broke the new starter, go figure) but the new clutch is in. John did all the heavy lifting and bolt-breaking for me. Went with a Zoom MU-Series as it's an SCCA approved OEM clutch for my class. Old clutch had material wear on the outer edge and more meat in the middle (weird) but the pressure plate was toast. Turned the whole center hub blue! I've got a list about a zillion miles long to get done before next weekend, but it looks like the old girl will make the SCCA autocross and maybe even stand a chance! I'll post up some pics and whatnot after I get it going tomorrow.

Can I ask how you broke a starter installing a clutch, lol? Good job on the clutch and good luck at the races! |

Sounds like the flywheel should have been resurfaced.

The flywheel looked surprisingly good. We'll see how it holds up, but it looks nice. In fact the whole clutch assembly looked fairly new, it was just very, very cheap. Very poor quality reman unit. Hopefully the Zoom will fair better. Oh, and the starter broke an ear taking it off of the transmission. Beats the hell out of me how, but when I took out the nut a chunk of the ear just fell off into my face. Way to go NAPA Lifetime parts!

Hehehehe, getting it more ready! I just scored a set of 14" LE meshies and bought some Rt-615's. We'll be VERY sticky for the autocross!

Second test drive was a success as well. Slave cylinder bled out correctly and now the pedal is more towards my liking. It'll do a drag-style launch now and catch a piece of 2nd
