Where to buy gaskets?
I recently took off my UIM and throttle body so that I could polish them. I figure I should get some new gaskets before putting everything back together.
Anyway where would one purchase all the gaskets on the UIM, the gasket between the TB and UIM, and the gasket between the LIM and UIM? I took a quick look at rx7store and corksport with no luck. I'm thinking about giving Ray Crowe a call, any other ideas? Thanks for the help.

Call Ray, most of those gaskets are really cheap last I remembered.

actually i used cork and template and cut out my own. those factory gaskets are single use crush type and are really temperamental with imperfect surfaces. even with a brand new UIM to LIM gasket i was getting boost leak. ive since only ever used really cheap cork and with amazing results.
If you have taken your UIM off a few times chances are the surface is no longer good enough for a factory gasket and thats the truth! as a machinist i can tell you that without face milling your surfaces to new again they simply take too much abuse even if your careful if you repeatedly take it off and put it back on to use factory crush gaskets. Even the thin steel gaskets wear on the soft aluminum parts.

That sounds like a really interesting alternative, what is cork? What do you use for the steel gasket between the LIM and UIM?

you can buy it at any napa or other parts store it comes in a roll or in a sheet and its made of crushed cork and rubber, so it seals really well and you can use it on air, oil, and gasoline seals.
and yes you can use it as a direct replacement for the metal gasket between the UIM and the LIM. or the Throttle body and UIM. you just trace the old gasket onto the cork sheet then cut it out and punch out the holes. easiest stuff ever. just dont use it for any exhaust stuff lol.

I can't tell if thats sarcasm about using the cork gaskets in the exhaust, but obviously that will not work. If you need exhaust gaskets there are a few options.

Yeah my bad I was just being sarcastic about using cork gaskets in the exhaust. I went ahead and called Ray yesterday, $45 for 3 gaskets shipped overnight. Talk about awesome service, three cheers for Ray Crowe!

So, I got some aftermarket gaskets from a friend, (Kevin Landers) and they are the Atkins rebuild ones... (but without the rest of the kit like the o-rings and etc)
So these are different than the stock ones, and i wont have issues, right?
