Default Installing RECARO SPEED in my vert?

Ok, so the other day, I happened upon a RECARO SPEED for sale locally, and I want to get it.

Problem: will it fit? The seat should have no problem fitting in my car as far as the dimensions, but what about the seat rails and all that? It IS a bottom mount seat, but will it my rails fit alright? how much of a pain in the ass will this be to install, anyway?

Here's some pics: (this is with a Honda Accord rail.)

I was wondering if perhaps I could get away with just bolting up the old rails to the recaro and not having to buy anything else to make it fit?

Try it. At worse you can try and find recaro rails for the FC and swap out the Honda ones (sell them?).

Try to see what you are dealing with first, take measurements between mounting points and such. Also, check Recaro and find out how much an FC rail is. You might be able to use another company's rails as well. I have Corbeau seats, with the rails, and they have more than one mounting place on the rail for different seats.

But red seats are pretty ugly, FWIW.

CHeck SHPmainMan on this forum for Rails. I don't know if he can get a hold of recaro ones but it's worth a shot.

Ok, thank you guys. I am thinking of buying it and just trying to fab something to work... but here's another question:

Is this seat really worth it? I want it, and it usually goes for like, $800, so that makes me say yes, but the mounting problems, and the fact that I will need to work for two more weeks and not drive my car longer makes me say no. (Pursuade me to get it )

I may be able to help you a little. Most after market seats have the same mounting dimensions, so assuming the Recaro seats are like the rest you will be able to mount the seats easily. Well at least the driver side. The seats I purchased for my car also had Honda brackets on them. I just removed them and tweaked the factory FC brackets to make them work. If I remember correctly I just had to widen the holes from the slider to the chassis and re-drilled the sliders for the two rear holes on the back of the seat. The passenger side is another animal though since the slider on the transmission tunnel is at a slight angle making almost impossible to mount without a little extra modification. Just from my own personal experience I would recommend buying an adapter for the passenger side but it is possible though.

Talk to SHPmainMan about the MOMO T-Club (1058BLK but ask to see if he has red since you were looking for red) the price may be similar and the seat is better and FIA approved.

I could, but it's bottom mount, and if I were to get a bottom mount, I would want to get a reclinable seat. Also, I heard that either no reclinable, or no bottom mount seats are FIA (or something else) approved, so I gotta check up on that real quick.
