I don't get it
I'm starting to realize the car isn't designed as well as I thought... Maybe they needed to give the car to REAL enthusiasts to test before putting it on the market (say different parts of US vs. few locations). I think that way, they would of eliminate 4 year later ECU reflashes, finicky starting issues, excessive gas consumption, etc... Don't get me wrong, when it runs, its a great car!! But no car I've owned so far has stranded me before like the 8!! Not even my FDs! And in such a short period of time. And regarding modification, well, I feel that 8 still lacks the capability of modifying and still many years away from what you could achieve from the FD.

For sure!!! But I think I have it all worked out now.. We'll see if it sells.. If not, I'm building a spare Renesis this winter and drop it in... Or put a 13B REW.. which it should of had from the beginning

Temporarily insane.

After reading that article, I wanted to go out and buy an Rx8.
Then I realized I already had. And I think it is just your Rx8, Herblenny. Last tank of gas I managed 27 mpg. I've yet to have a problem with the exception of the one I created when I changed brake pads and lost the lock washer on the bolt to the e-brake thinking that I had to remove it to get the caliper free.

Not to derail this thread, but Nutsid, how did you manage to get 27mpg? Do you premix? If so, what brand / ratio? What are your driving habbits?

I do not premix. I drive the car like the slowest grandma in existence. I shift before 3k every time, don't use A/C, etc. etc.
I don't normally drive like this, but my last full tank I wanted to see what kind of gas mileage I could pull out of it.

Phil, put a 20b in there rasta!
Are you not worried of carbon build up by not allowing the engine to breath every so often. e.g. Rev it up to 9.5k I mean how can you live with that! 3K Rev? dang, you want to drive my Jeep, that's at least it'll be half the tach then. Last edited by Nexcis; 06-12-2008 at 03:09 PM.. |
