Default Question regarding headers.

I'm not too involved in the Rx8 world, as I'm more concerned with my FB; however, I've yet to notice anyone talk about replacing their stock headers with after market ones. I was just curious if any of you have went the after market route of headers, and if so, is there any noticeable difference to you?

I haven't found anything that states that any given header even improves performance, with the exception of one on Corksports website that states that it improves horsepower and torque.

If you've got experience with any of those headers, let this site know!

i haven't replaced mine. I came close to ordering the RE-A one when I got my exhaust but decided not to because I potentially see a turbo down the road so it seem to be wasted money. I too would be curious though on what kind of gains could be expected on a NA 8 with different headers.

I've spoken with RB about their headers coming out later this year. Their dyno results have only shown around 4-5whp gains and not too much sound increase. When they come out I'm getting them... It would be one step closer to my 25whp NA increase I'm looking for.

I had a turbo 8 - not going down that path again. Besides, RB makes a damn good header and I trust their tests...

Is there any word on the headers that are already out now? I was debating on the turbo route as well, but I don't see it happening considering one turbo rotary should be sufficient enough. I just want a little extra oomph in my Rx8, specifically in the torque department. I've decided on replacing the cats with a straight pipe and getting a "cat-back" exhaust, but I was curious as to the gains of the headers as well.

And Fikren, have you noticed much difference with your cat back system?

other than, in my opinion, a better sound, the butt dyno says yes. It seems a little quicker on the response but I don't think there were any huge gains. Nothing has been dyno'd but if it were stock to catback I would not expect anymore than possibly a 2hp gain if that.
