Starter Solenoid Replacement?
So tonight when leaving work my starter officially quit working. When I go to start my engine all that happens is it makes a clicking sound, but no turning over. Someone told me its probably just the solenoid thats bad, and not the starter itself. Does this seem plausible, and if so how hard is it just to replace the solenoid?

I don't think Mazda sells just the solenoid...
Check the easier things to fix before going after the starter... 1) Check battery voltage - low voltage will do the same thing. 2) Check grounds - same as above. -Ted |

If it is bolted together take it apart and renew the contacts and sand down the ring .If the contacts are burnt down braze then up and file back to shape. I have done it to several brands through the years .Check the auto parts store for a new solenoid and starter bushes as well .

Turning the key and having it just click could be a connection problem also. Check the wiring at the battery and starter and make sure the connections are clean and good.
