ceramic vs steel apex seals
For daily driven.... ceramic or steel apex seals. For some reason i remember being told ceramic seals don't seal as well at low rpms??

ceramic for a DD? That's a nice chunk of change. LOL depending on the shape of the FC, the ceramic seals might be worth more than the car

I love my FC. Half the parts we have in them are worth more than the car anyway haha. I was longevity and reliability out of my car. If i can get that out of ceramic seals with primarily daily driving and some spirited ill spend the coin happily to have a more reliable seal.

Yes they will have lower compression due to more end leakage V's stock apex seals. With big street ports on one piece seals you will notice its harder to start (new rotor housings).

Im planning on stock ports and new housings. So then i would be just as well off to run a steel 2pc seal then?

I run stock seals at 1.8bar boost pressure and high power (Ferrari F40 beating , ZR1 Vette beating, Pagani Zonda beating performance). And its my daily driver Stock Mazda apex seal is best, worked good for many many people over the years.... > http://www.riceracing.com.au/13B-REW-engines.htm Click on Page 1 to 6 listed links of the old ANAL RX7, read the engine build, then post back. http://www.riceracing.com.au/water-injection.htm My 478rwhp daily driver from 1997 to 2002, stock Mazda 2mm apex seals, reliable as, you will also see a customer engine set up of 550rwhp, again stock std Mazda apex seals............ when he did experiment with tuning changes he detonated that engine and the stock Mazda apex seal just cracked, a ceramic by comparison would have shattered and destroyed the whole engine. Stock Mazda 2mm apex seals can take HUGE amounts of power and boost, and best of all they are very tough, but also very durable at the same time, there is nothing else you can buy that fits all those criteria.

Well just read that article and well... thats pretty nuts. What more can you really say about the nature of stock Mazda parts? Thats seriously impressive. And all of that on a stock ECU even!
I guess i just mis interpreted the info on your apex seal page. Or maybe just misunderstood the fact that you were stressing how perfect your ceramics are for racing application but not for street. And just to clarify, your SP is COMPLETELY STOCK internally yes? Youre just running a standalone, WI, single turbo conversion and upgraded ingnition?

The 2mm factory apex seal is far superior to the 3mm factory apex seal in far as distortion like I showed on my own page.
