Crimps that you don't have to crimp sound the mythical virgin birth... buy the right tools/connectors and stop going for things that are meant for ameatuers without the reasons to buy proper tools.
OH... and get the f*ck down to DHS before I drag you down

Crimping and heatshrinking would be the best way to go.

i use to use them for wiring my radio up... i used to buy a different one everyfew months and it made it less a pain in the ass to change them, i have not used them for any "real" electrical uses, but they worked for me.

I've used them and I love them, but I never really used them for anything other than stereo stuff I don't believe. They're awesome for when you keep having to swap stuff out, like TheDriver216 said with his stereo. Wal-Mart used to sell them years ago but they stopped carrying them shortly after. I never had any problems with them though.
They're also great for testing to make sure something works the way you have it wired before going through the trouble of ACTUALLY crimping or soldering. I still want to get a whole box of these in all different sizes lol. |

I remember when they first came out a few years ago...
The manufacturer was touting them as "crimping without requiring a special crimping tool". Already the red flags went up... These were nothing more than field splices that you could use in case of emergencies. I don't care too much for them cause they are bulkier than a proper inline butt crimp connector. (Who uses those things rather than run the proper length of wire in the first place anyways???) -Ted |

I think I use the step-up/down butt crimps more than the standard butsplice crimps.

I'm a fan of our soldiers too. But I hate soldering. I will never solder anything other than a board again
