Default New to rotaries!

Just picked up an RX7 to drive on nice days and weekends.....little did I know it has a blown coolant seal. I even did a compression test and it was perfect.....d'oh!
Guess I will be pulling it and rebuilding soon.

What year is it?

If it is 86-88, you may find that the housing has actually failed (corrosion)

If it is an 89-91, you are probably only needing a seal

Anyway, Welcome to the club, sorry to hear about the bad seal

I drove my car for quite a while with a bad coolant seal by defeating the radiator cap. When the second one goes, it won't start anymore, then you really do have to rebuild it.
