Review: Super Pro Poly Urethane Diff Bushings
I bought the bushings some time ago and finally got around to having them installed this week. Thought I'd share my impressions.
My diff bushings were original with 130k miles on them. When driving you could feel and sometimes hear the drivetrain moving. It was easily seen by watching the shifter bounce around on rough, bumpy streets. At part throttle cruise in traffic, the movement was pretty annoying. At speed, it was worse as the drivetrain was twisting and the shifter was moving all around. Due to the difficulty and amount of time and work required to do diff bushings, I actually sent the car to the mechanic. The decision was made easier since I was also installing a new gas tank since the baffles in my old had literally broken apart from the spot welds and were rattling around the tank. Vista Brake in Vista, CA did an excellent job working on the car. The shop is nothing special but the mechanics are a bunch of older hot rodding guys some of whom raced SCCA. They do excellent alignments also http://www.vistabrake.com/ The car feels much more solid now. Much more of that new car solidness that you loose as time goes on and bushings wear out. Before on rough roads and some bumps, you would kinda feel something off. It felt a little disconnected in an odd way. Now the car feels more confidence inspiring and put together. I did not notice any extra drivetrain noise at all. Nothing. No squeaks. No rattles. The car also puts the power down better now. It feels better when you get on it hard. And shifting is easier since the damn drivetrain and shifter aren't bouncing around! Highly recommend them to anyone looking. Very happy with the Super Pro polyurethane diff bushings. Cheers. |

thanks Al for the review. If anyone is interested, JKL Racing Engineering is selling full superpro bushing kits or individual bushings right now. We have them in stock.
