S4 Turbo AFM repair?
Hey guys, I have been trying to track down a few vibration problems with my car. So far, I've fixed most of them.
I've done an aligment, replaced the rear tires, replaced my driveshaft, and replaced my TPS. I still have a bit of a pulsating vibration at around 2.5K~4K rpm... After talking with/ test drive done by a very experienced Russian mechanic (and good friend) he suggested that the problem might lie in my Air flow sensor. His theory is that the sensor "Strips" are worn out in that rpm range on the afm, causing fluctuating signal being sent to the car. He further confirmed it by driving the car, and showed me that the problem goes away in higher rpms. This same guy told me that he experienced this same problem on some old BMW's back in russia, apparently they had the same "barn door" style of Airflow meter as the RX-7.... So, I guess I now need a new turbo II airflow meter, or a way to clean/ fix mine to correct the problem somewhat? I'm going to try to find a way to resistance check the afm, however if I can not find a good one in time, Has anyone sucessfully disassembled an AFM before? Now, my car is drivable but I Non EDIT: I just called Chris Ludwig and he confirmed that this is very possible, trying to find a procedure to test it right now... he's got an S4 AFM for me if this one turns out bad... Phew... karma, dont fail me now!

if I had the money... I am SOOOOO getting a standalone as soon as I can afford one.... plus I've got Chris AND Banzai Racing to tune it, both being quite close to me.
For now, I just need it to work somewhat ok so I can go to DGRR... I've worked too damn hard on this baby to give up due to a freakin airflow sensor, lol.
