1988 Turbo II money pit

I bought it in Moorseville, NC for $3k..

picture that but with stock S4 TII wheels

It was sad condition, i probably paid too much. but it came with these mods:
Racing Beat 3" turbo back exhaust
K&N intake, 3" tid
Throttle body mod
Ported intake manifold
Emissions removed/simplified vacuum lines
S5 turbo
Blitz turbo timer
Rtek 1.7
SAFC II
720cc secondaries
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Greddy Type S BOV
ACT lightweight flywheel
ACT S/S clutch and HD PP

i fixed a bunch of small stuff, did all the regular maintainence, flushed all the fuilds, redline gear oil, etc

First thing was I swapped all the S5 exterior parts from my wrecked GXL, including S5 TII wheels. so it looked like this

then one night it got broken into, and the stereo, SAFC, and turbo timer all got ripped out.

and thats when i decided to do some upgrades..

20x9" ebay FMIC

Rtek 2.0

and installed new 750cc and 1000cc injectors from RC engineering and an AEM UEGO wideband o2

I had it dynod on this setup and it made 250whp, 6psi@redline

next, finally upgraded to a BNR stage 3 turbo, and a greddy profec II EBC

It was about this time, a coolant seal started to let go. still competely driveable, but i have to top of the coolant after every drive. Anway, i still took it to a dyno again to see what the BNR was at.. it made 307 whp with this setup, 12psi

It ran kinda lean up top, the rtek was maxed, and the injectors were at 90% duty cycle. I upgraded the 1000's to 1600's, but havent been back to the dyno since

Tein flex coilovers

and new slotted rotors/pads all around..

I also got a spare S4 TII engine rebuilt with a mild streetport

the latest mod is TII sideskirts and front lip

and thats how it is now.. Ive been thinking about ditching the rtek for a haltech, since staging the 1600s has been troublesome, so that is probably my next mod. I like the power where it is now, so i think most of the engine upgrades are done. Next up is body work and paint and swapping the new motor in

thanks for looking

Is that a JVC DVD capable head unit? It looks identical to the one I have in the 'vert.

Very nice. I wish Rtek had the 2.0 for us S5 owners. I would rather not go through the hassle of a standalone, and PowerFC's are getting pricey.

I have the Haltech installed and tuned, it runs so much better. the afrs in boost are steady as a rock, apparently the AFM just plain sucks when running more boost, its way to flaky

OK so last week the clutch finally got so bad i finally decided to pull the engine..

empty engine bay..

ACT HD PP was shot to hell

the flywheel was also shot, but its at the shop getting resurfaced.. pics of that later. New ACT pressure plate on the way. I also found out there was a worn out ebay clutch in there.. which lasted about 20k miles

parts:

and the old engine:

im going to do some throttle body porting while im at it.. will post pics later

Nice job - that pp looks like my old stocker from my FC a few years back. Good luck on the swap... it'll be nice to see the new #'s on the sp engine.
