Guardrail > FD

The car is fine mechanically and I drove it home yesterday without issue.

I promise, the car will be back as it was. I've spent waaay too much time and money on the car to do anything else.

Thanks for all of you who stopped by to give your well wishes. Thanks to David Jerome for offering his tow dolly and Big John who offered to tow it home. And thanks to Jonathan for helping me get it road ready.

I'm glad me and pinkflea were both ok. She picked a bad time to take a ride as that was my first wreck in my life.

I called the police to do an accident report and the trooper did his invetsigation and found the cause to be the gravel in the curve. We swept it out of the road and he did his measurig deal saying that I was doing ~45mph when I started to slide based on the marks. So be careful out there, you never know when the rug might get pulled from beneath your feet.

I'll post some repair pics as I get it done.

No, no ticket. He said in his opinion there wasn't much I could have done.

I approve of this post.

Btw, I think your FD was the best looking at the show, exterior wise.

Glad you got the car back safely. Everything always appears to be worse then it really is when things first happen. It will be fixed and in a couple months you will look back in laugh about this, or cringe when you see your bank statement Glad you made it back ok.

True, but he didn't win overall so I thought I'd throw in a compliment on a well done FD. That, AND, I was telling him my opinion to supplement the judges opinions.

Working up the total... parts I'm looking at about 4800.

New rear quarter panel, door, window, window reg, doo latch, fendr liners, 2 new volks, new feed front and rear fender from shine, new tail light, new headlight lens and some paint, a lil apoxy and a BUNCH of elbow grease. I'm sure I'll find a few more needed items.

send your wheels to wheel wizard. i have seen two sets of volks, and a set or works in person before(while damaged) and after, and they do an EXCELLENT job. and it sure beats the hell out of the cost of new ones!
