Can I put a S5 fan clutch on my 12a?

The fan clutch on my 12A is bad. I just acquired a S5 NA engine core. Is there some way for me to use the S5 fan/clutch assembly on my 12a? I know the bolt pattern is different. I know it's easy enough to buy a used 12A fan clutch off the forum, but I would like to just work with what I have without having to worry about shipping and buying more parts. Will the water pump from the S5 bolt to the 12A? Or can I swap the pulley? Last edited by impulsive-RX7; 04-01-2008 at 10:10 AM. |

Water pumps have different part #s, and my general assumption would be they are different and wont swap out. You can always go to the junk yard and find a good cheap electric fan from a taurus and go w/ that... |

Ehhh, I've had a bad experience with the taurus fan when I had my TII. I'll stick the reliable old clutch fan. After I did some digging through the other forums, seems that the S5 water pump housing will fit, but not without modifications. Probably more effort than I'm willing to put into it. |
