Track Trailer

So I came across a smaller trailer that was originally used to haul 13' Boston Whalers. The trailer is too long but measures ~42" between the wheel wells. And it's free. So it will meet the Plasma Cutter and Welder very soon and emerge a track/auto-x/tire trailer. The question is for anyone that has one of these, or anyone that has thought of them before, what things would you look for that would make it the most useable. most effeicent, most whatever?

Room for spare tires, jack/stands, tools, generator for air-tools (charge others to use your air-tools, except rotary people)

I should mention that this will be towed with my 7 Not towed by the Jeep with the 7 on the trailer as well

So far the plan is simple, mount the race rubber infront of the axle and build a 24x24x40" box to hold tools, jack, stands, 12V aircomp, cooler, strap the chairs to the top of it.

Sounds like a good plan. As long as everything is able to be locked up and secured, sounds like you have everything you need.

Lots of people with Miatas, S2000's, FD's, Corvettes, etc have built tire trailers and there's lots of info out there. Make sure the box locks and make provisions for locking the tires up too. Make sure the tires can't move around when mounted and they may bounce around a bit, so strapping them down tightly is a good idea. You might want to do something to reduce the spring rate a bit, since you'll almost certainly have less weight on it. If it's a multi leaf spring, you can take some leafs out and it'll ride and track better. A spare tire for the trailer can come in handy and it's cheap insurance.

I have a grassroots motorsports issue where they show a race FC with a tiny trailer that carries 2 sets of tires and tools....I'll try to snap a pic.

Please do, I would love to see it.

So I woke up this morning with a general idea of how I want to secure the tires. I'll see how it lays out once I have the trailer. Me being me I always need to have a PJ in the mill. Don't even have the engine stabbed in yet & I'm planning the next adventure... anyway.

A few other things that I think I want to integrate into the trailer are
1)On-board air - I have a small DC powerd air comp that I'm thinking about mounting either in the box or underneathe it with a quick release fitting mounted as well. Probabaly end up with a switch outside so I can just turn it on and bam - air. WOOT!
2) A small drycell marine battery mounted in the box to provide power to the AC, a Dual Link Power Cable hookup thats wired directly to the battery. I have these on my car as well and my battery charger so if i do end up with a low or dead battery, I can jump myself. And when it needs to be charged i just plug it into my charger and there's the Juice.
3) A 12V DC plug - just because
4) some sort of straps on the top of the box for misc crap, chairs and the like.
5) spare tire - good call there black, would've totally forgotten about that one like a dumbass
6) Cooler - Obvious. Will probably integrate this into the box itself as a sealed compartment so there isn't a seperate cooler bouncing around and well, I like to make things complicated.

I dunno, what else could one possibly need? Sweedish hooker stuffed in there somewhere?
