I am planning a part time drag car and am wondering how well the 3rd.gen 5 speed
trans holds up. The car should be the 1800 lb. range.

How much power?
What kinda engine?
Slicks? What size?

If we're talking forced induction and hitting 10's or faster, you might want to look at a adapter plate and any of the T56 series of transmissions...
This is purely just the sake of maintenance and parts availability and costs.
