umm, this reaks of failsauce.

I have heard of people taking a 13B and installing it into a miata through. Going with a miata engine into the FC3 Chassis is kinda stupid imo. Stock for stock, it has even LESS HP and TQ than the rotary, is actually made for a FWD turbo installation, and adapted to the RWD miata layout. This makes the cooling system less than ideal for performance.(Sport Compact Car).

The 1.6 was also designed with terrible intake and exhaust ports compared to most performace 4 cyl. engines, and was made for a lighter car. After all this, i really dont think a miata engine is a good idea.

PS: The SCC article was talking about a turbocharged layout btw, and the magazine had modified the engine's cooling system to perform better.

I am not sure if this is the same exact article as in the magazine, but it was this following car:

EDIT: I think personally, that if you could score an S2000 engine, or maybe a K20A or K24, and mate it up with an FR transmission, you could have one beast of a motor!

I know that the K20 at least can put out 200whp N/A with some cams, intake/header/exhaust, and a tune. and this is with an FF transmission. With further modding, the K20 could possibly be a pretty damn reliable motor.

But then again, getting a Jspec and getting it rebuilt would be cheaper to do.
