Most other markets you retail something for 2x to 3x what you buy it for (or so my friend who runs a flower shop tells me).

The rotary engine industry (automotive in general) is much more cut throat than that. Ask any vendor and they will tell you the profit margin is much smaller, like maybe 20% if you are lucky. The big dealers I think generally try to adhere to something closer to the 2x markup, but private shops couldn't sell anything if they did that. If our cost goes up any prices have to adjust immediately, otherwise every part would be sold at a loss and nobody can operate like that.
