I can tell you that a buddy and I did his engine swap this way. We put small jackstands under the frame rails, placed a towel under the engine, rolled a jack under the oil pan, took the crossmember free of the car, and lowered it to the ground. We were able to then pull the dizzy (should have done it earlier), rock the engine over to get the jack out, and then just dragged the towel with motor out the nose of the car.

The plastic panel under the bumper will flex a little, and the motor just slides out. We were surprised how well it went.
