Theres a few ways to get those fuckers off.....
One.... take a cut off and turn the phillips into a common... if the common strips with a impact driver as Ransom suggested you have two options from there... drill the heads off or as Gunny suggested, weld a nut onto the totally fucked up head and use a socket to take them off.
While Mazdatrix is usually totally useless and talking to them makes we want to punch kittens, the one good FAQ they have is bearing replacement. You can get the new bearings AND races for ~$60 for both sides (at least that's what I remember my cost was locally, I could be wrong) and then you just knock the old races out and replace EVERYTHING... they basically come out just like new.... good shit... I didn't look at the pics, but unless the hubs are bent and or cracked, no worries, they will be like new once the bearings are replaced.
