A straight axle TR4 would make a good swap candidate, the IRS version is OK but the rear camber and toe change would make it less stable at high speed. An RX2 or RX3 rear axle is narrow enough to fit under most LBC's and Miata/RX7 diff stuff plugs right in, my car has an RX2 housing and a 4:30 Miata r&p with a 2nd gen clutch type limited slip. I also used Miata front steering knuckles and brakes, had a machine shop redrill the rear axles for 4x100 bolt circle.
Well for a rust problem it sure looks good now and it's probably a whole lot of fun out on the track.
