Rotary Car Club - View Single Post - Is this normal and/or acceptable? (rear hub bearing surface)

I just pressed out the rear hub and bearing, and noticed that part of the machined bearing surface of the hub has a texture (pictured below). The Area that is covered by the bearing race is smooth.

Is this normal? Is it caused by wear or is it just made that way? Is it okay to reuse?
