Nope, only minor surface rust, a little sand paper, a little high temp engine paint and BAM! The stock downpipe has 2 cats in it

and has angles which make it hard to gut. The main cat however got a nice hollowing out.
Replaced the stock turbo (s4) with an s5 unit. Equal sized twin scroll manifold versus unequal collected manifold w/ a switching actuator.
Also suspected the water pump was going bad
