But it looks like you got screwed. If it ate a rotor and housing, then it was clearly blown before being 'parked'. I don't know what you ended up paying, but anything over $500 for a blown GTU is too much. You are due a refund.
And sorry, but not having a battery to turn it over is no excuse. Take the battery out of your car, his car, or jump it to test it. I think he just didn't want you to test it because he knew something was wrong.
So, he either needs to take the car back and refund you (plus gas $$$ money if he is stand up) or refund you some $$$ to put towards a rebuild.
I would PM an Admin or Moderator about the issue.
