you don't even have to go through the trouble of removing your MOP if you don't want to. i usually do both (premix with my MOP) and i feel somewhat justified since the only times i really do maintenance (cleaning) to my MOP is with rebuilds. i just pulled an engine i got last summer apart and i'm fairly sure a part of it's demise was that the MOP was unable to do it's job. premixing could have given it more service time - oh well, for a change, it's my gain now.
