I hadn't seen the Kinsler throttle setup before, let alone on a rotary. Do you have to use a RB manifold or something like it? I have seen many ITB setups, most of them are using weber manifolds.
You may have opened a can of worms here... Everyone has their favorite tuning software.
Obviously, the tuning software has to go with the ECU in your car.
For you, an RTEK or similar piggyback ECU would be simpler. Unless you want to replace your entire wiring harness anyway (like if you install ITBs).
I have found the Haltech E6X to be simple to set up and use, but then again, it lacks features. The E8 has a lot more features, but is also harder to set up (although easier to tune).
Megasquirt is quite simple and easy (although it has been a long time since I tuned a megasquirt - I think the last one I did had no numbers after it). The megasquirt is very inexpensive compared to the rest.
I messed with a Motec once (a long time ago) - I remember it having a 3D map (a first for me). I am guessing that they are still ahead of their time (expensive though).
