We did the Mazda Corral at the Grand-Am ROLEX race at VIR in April and it was very cool. I won a pit lane pass and hung out with SpeedSource in their pit box during the race. Another thing VIR and Grand AM are doing that they did at the ROLEX race is a Fan Walk from 11:00am to 12:00pm Sunday before the race. What it means is you can walk through pit lane with all the teams cars in their pits and check out the cars very up close as well as the teams pit box.

This sounds like a fun time. I am going to try to make it. I haven't been to VIR yet and really want to go.

Little more info:

1.The viewing party with Freedom Autosport means you can watch the race on their big screen TV in their paddock on Sunday.

2. We're also going to try and add "Crew Member For A Day" with Freedom where we'll raffle off 3 positions to help with the crews for all 3 Freedom cars.

3. Glenn and Alana Long of Long Road Racing who manage Freedom Autosport are going to try and arrange tech talks and some additional activity with some of the other race teams for us also.

We're trying to come up with more and get the schedule finalized for everything. I'll post up more as soon as I get it.

Just got this from VIR:

"At the fan parties, music on the PA will start as soon as the track goes cold. Then the band Nex-Faze will take the stage from 7:30-10:30 on both Friday and Saturday. Nex-Faze plays an awesome mix of classic rock, 80's, 90's & modern rock and country as well. The VIR Girls will be at the parties with various give-aways for the fans from our sponsors. And what would Octoberfest be without beer? Special sponsors of the fan parties are Spaten and Leinenkugel's Octoberfest - two premium beers that will be served at the fan parties along with food for those that work up an appetite dancing! "

Beer, music, girls... and racing! :icon_tup:
