Help... rx8 6speed question

hey guys, i am doing a resto-mod on a 73rx3 and i am putting a 6speed from an 04 rx8 in it. I am trying to figure out if the speed sensor for the speedometer is inside the tranny or picked up from some other location.. i really want to keep my old-school speedo. If anyone out there can answer this, it would help me greatly!!! im hoping that the sensor is one of the 4 wires on the tranny... also are these trannies holding up pretty good? im gonna be running about the same hp as an rx8... thanks in advance for any help

Personally, I don't think these tranny holds up that well.. I took my 8 on a track and I had hard time shifting into 4th when the tranny got hot. I thought maybe changing out the fluid will help (I use Neo Synthetic) but didn't.

I have a spare tranny at home.. I'll see about the speed sensor.

I am pretty sure the speed sensors are in the wheels...

All that stuff is tied into the DSC/TCS stuff.

The speed sensors are on the wheels. The tranny's hold up pretty well as long as they're not abused. 7's Only Racing can rebuild and mod the tranny's to hold up to the abuse of a P-Port on a track.

Personally I plan on running an FE 6-spd on my ~380RWHP Twin Turbo RE FC next year.

I would call Speedometer Solutions for a way to adapt the tranny to your old school speedo. They have sensors and adapters for just about everything.
