Castle Nuts

I hate castle nuts. LOL I'm not quite sure the technical name for these. But they are a pain in the F@#%^$* Rear to get off.

Ohh, and I don't have a torch. :banghead:

Are you guys just removing the nut, and then releasing your frustration on it with a hammer? I did that with the sway bar end links connected to the brake arm and they are bent now. So, I guess I need to buy new end links.

hmmm once the cotter pin is out those castlated nuts should just come off like normal. maybe you should try a half inch breaker bar if your having that much trouble.

also if your asking how to get the li9nk to disengage a pickle fork and hammer work wonders you can pick one up from autozone pretty cheap.

Yea that's what Traynham was telling me. Guess I'll go invest in some pickle forkage.

those should come off pretty easy unless they are seized or cross threaded on. if you have access to an impact gun they should be no problem even if seized or crossed.

And when using the pickle fork or seperator just make sure to not tear or split the boot on there.

yeah those "should" come off easy.. usually are hand threaded... at first i used a forkage thingy but it tore my boot so be careful..

Try using PB blaster?

also, Autozone has this kick ass, long as hell breaker bar you can "rent" try using that thing, I liked it.

So, I didn't read any of the post before I did this. I was actually told to buy some pb blaster, but I was in my garage wrenching away, and I really didn't want to make the trip to autozone.

So, anyway the control arms are off the car. So, I think the purpose of the breaker bar might be useless... I have no C-clamp to put it in.

Should, I just rent a impact gun.....ahhh.. dammit

Why are these a PITA

I use BG In-force. #438. Was turned on to it at the race track. Really works great on hot turbo exhaust hardware.
Maybe take it to a shop and have them get it off. Less time and agro from going back and forth to rent company?
