When are you coming through? I ask because I'm in Asheville and coming down I-26, you will pass right by my house.

I-64 E -> I-77 S -> I-81 S -> I-26 S to Asheville, NC. Then this is listed from Nantahala Village's site:

From Asheville:
Take I-40 West to exit 27 which is Hwy. 74 West. Continue on Hwy. 74 until the road becomes two-lane. Stay in the left lane and the lodge will be at the top of the hill on the right. It is approximately one hour from I-40 to Nantahala Village.
