FS or WTT: Yugo 8mm Mauser *mint*
I am wanting to either sell or trade off my early Yugoslavian 8mm mauser. i have fired it about eh, 20 times since i have owned it. The barrel is still blue and is essentially still like new. It just sits, so i would rather have some cash or some parts for it.
Asking $150 obo or considering trades for other guns or cars parts. Will only to sell to those over the age of 18 and with no felonies as per applicable laws. |
Pic please. I need a rifle!
|
Pics? I am sorta interested. Ammo kinda high?

|

M98 are cock on open, but that's not a M98... my '95 7mm mauser chileno is "cock on close" and in the reply after mine he states that yes it is. Its a weaker design that the '98 model corrected. Still, I fired mine a couple months ago and it was pretty sweet, not quite as loud as my 30-06, but plenty powerful. you just shouldn't use overpowered loads in the '95 actions.
|
The bolt looks the same as my M98, plus this rifle is an 8mm not a 7. The M95 has a straight bolt. It also reads like he was saying "yes it is" worth more than what he was asking. Either way it's all moot since the gun has long been since sold.
|
my '95 has a curved bolt. of course mine also looks different than any other chileno i've seen as it looks more like a big carbine since it doesn't have a full stock. I'm almost certain the number stamped on the bolt matches the receiver too. I'll try to post a pic of it for conversation purposes. fwiw, i enjoy conversations about guns so if i'm wrong at least i learn something.
maybe he'll chime in on the "cock on close" part. |
I love talking about guns as well, especially Mauser rifles :D
Looking at my M98 bolt next to the ones in these pictures, the only notable difference I can tell is the bolt handle is flat on the bottom of his, whereas mine is completely round. Looking at the left side of his receiver, I can't quite see what it's stamped with, but it doesn't say 98 or 95 anywhere on it :-\ The Germans were so much more clear about that lol. Mine is stamped Mod. 98 right on the receiver. As if the obviously peened swasticas and eagles weren't enough to give it away :D |
