Jumping Wiper Blades
Even with new wiper blades: after they wipe about 2 minutes in the rain and all the crap is wiped off, they start griping the window so hard that they start jumping. The only way to stop it is at full wiper speed. If the washer fluid is then squirted, it stops for a little while. Seems to be too much friction between the blades and glass.
I wonder if the Rain-X is the problem as I do not remember ever having this problem until using it. It does this with the stock Mazda wiper blades and normal aftermarket one. Anyone have this problem? I wonder if the new one piece Bosch blades will work OK. Maybe I have to stop using Rain-X. |
I have had no trouble with my wipers.I use Rain-X and standard Bosch wiper blades.I do spray silicone rubber lubricant on the wiper blade rubber.

If the blades only chatter in one direction, for example the upstroke, the wiper arm might be slightly twisted. The rubber should not be angled towards the direction of travel. This causes the blade to "hop" across the glass. A pair of pliers and a slight twist of the arm near the blade attachment point can correct this. Just takes some experimentation.

Chatter more in one than the other but do it both.
I just silconed the blades and will see if that helps. |
Beam Blade wipers, I had chatter at triple digits, now I don't. This is at the track if your wondering.

I'm having good results with the Bosch Icon blades. They are similar to the ones that come on all new BMW, Audi, and Mercedes cars.
