1987 Turbo II - starts then dies
as of this morning, i now have this problem...
car was cold. Would start for a sec. Then as it rev'ed up alittle it would flat die like the ign. cut out (not like it stumbling and dying) sooo. thoughts while i search? |
so it did the cold start up then when it came down it just died...
what is the cars idel set at? what degree is it outside? will it start back up? check for vac leaks, leaky injectors, spark plug condition just a few idea. |

hummm.. so while u have the pedal depressed it just dies out.. or when u let off the gas it dies out?
|
either or
|
hummm I would check for vac leaks... may be a big culprit.
|
i plan on checking out the AFM as well. I am at work at the moment but i gives me something to do tonight.
Im just worried i may have a break in the wiring harness for the AFM |
being a turbo car.. I just wonder if it is a coupler that has come loose and giving you a vac leak.. if thats the case and the leak is big enough it wont idle at all.
|
and.......carbon killed the motor....
went to crank it and it spun as free as could be. Pulled the plugs and things are real low on compression. (lots of weak puffs, one good puff). soo....thats that. but on the brightside, i might be moving into a house soon! |
DAMN!!! that blows.. sorry to hear buddy :(
|
just an excuse to go faster
