Howdy

Greetings and salutations from the (soon to be) frozen north that is Edmonton.

I'm the lucky owner of a 1987 RX-7 GX that used to look like this

Now it looks like this

after two years of hard work and lots of headache(no shop is ever touching my car again)

Since most of the car was toast it now has everything from a 1990 JDM Turbo vert except the engine, thats a S4 6-port which expells its small woodland creature killing fumes via a RB header/presilencer and dual borla s-types. It's loud. Very very loud. But awesome.

Suspension is a mis-matched set with mazdaspeed coilovers in the front and GAB coilovers in the back. Full poly bushings as well as rear steer eliminators and a 2 way locking differential. Have i mentioned that this is my only car and will be driven in the winter?

Thats about it. I have an absolute blast with this thing and haven't had any problems with it since the rebuild which was 9000km ago.

nice save from fiery death

holy pulsation dampener fire!!! I thought that's how you had it NOW....Glad to see you got her back on the road....now, it's a 6 port turbo or is it still NA?

McTinkerson 10-27-2008 08:53 PM

It's a reman 6port NA, everything else is TII.

The fire wasn't a PD issue, it was a pinched injector o-ring. Back in '95 the frist and previous owner had the motor rebuilt at 150,000 and the shop pinched at least one injector oring. Car caught fire goin' down the free way. After that it was sitting in a garage for 11 years til I got it for free. Nothing is ever free. EVER. But now I know every nut and bolt on the car.

And yes, it is a blast. I cannot wait for our clubs winter auto cross sessions.
