engine torque brace

is the Feed Engine Torque Brace worth it or should i get motor mounts instead?

make sure you have good motor mounts (dont have to be solid) just good. and get the garfinkle brace. I have 1/2 of it now and it looks really solid. I have an ebay special installed and this thing is wimpy compared to the Garfinkle brace. The GF brace is also cheaper than the feed brace.

Does the solid brace add vibration? Gotham's brace looks like it has a dampner. I need something to help my shifting but didn't want all the vibration.

i dont know... i havnt received the second package yet.. ive only got the mounts. i dont think its dampened though. i think its a solid brace.

I ran the solid brace for awhile and had no viberation. Now i run solid motor mounts tranny brace diff brace and urithane diff bushings it just humms a sweet tune! PS when i shift now the gears are were they should be!

ive got all that coming except the bushings. ill probably order a delrin bushing set soon. that or the supernow set.

where is a good place to get good motor mounts?

Phoenix7 06-18-2008 02:19 PM

I got mine from www.corksport.com but I don't know if they have them for the FD. I thought they were a good price back then.

EDIT: $599 + shipping for Mazdaspeed mounts. Pricey.

you can polyurethane motor mounts for around 80 or so used or 150 new i think. 4cnair makes em... or used to. not sure if he is on this forum.

^^that sounds better than 600 bux. I paid $120 for mine years ago.

Lotte 06-19-2008 01:13 AM

i sent him a pm so hopefully he still makes them.

Or you can make your own for about $40.

Garfinkles Motor Works 07-14-2008 09:29 AM

I still make the engine torque braces and they are NOT solid .The link has rubber bushings on each end to allow some engine movement and no vibrations .

Rotorypolo 07-17-2008 05:16 PM

I got the Garfinkle one..couldnt be happier =)
